Vehicle Rental Agreement

Terms & Conditions

1. Authorized Driver

Only the renter named in this agreement may operate the vehicle unless written approval is granted by the Lessor. Any additional authorized driver must be named on the rental schedule.

2. Fuel Policy

The vehicle takes 90 Octane fuel and must be refuelled with that grade only. It must be returned with the same fuel level it was issued with. Where it is returned below that level, the renter is required to top it up before the vehicle is accepted back. No refunds are provided for excess fuel.

3. Vehicle Condition

A full pre-inspection will be completed upon issue. The renter is fully responsible for all cosmetic, internal, and mechanical damage occurring during the rental period.

4. Prohibited Uses (STRICTLY ENFORCED)

The renter SHALL NOT use the vehicle for:

• ·Any criminal activity or transporting illegal items.
• ·Any action resulting in police investigation.
• ·Transporting passengers for hire without approval.
• ·Racing, reckless driving, stunt driving, off-road use.
• ·Transporting heavy commercial goods.
• ·Driving under the influence.
• ·Allowing unauthorized drivers.
• ·Smoking (Fee: JMD 10,000).
• ·Tampering with the GPS tracker.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

The vehicle is equipped with an active GPS tracker. Opulent Car Rentals WILL provide assistance to the JCF or any lawful authority in locating the vehicle or occupants when required.

The Lessor is NOT liable for any criminal act committed by the renter or third parties.

5. Return Policy

The minimum rental period is 3 days. The vehicle must be returned at the same time it was collected, and to the return location named on the rental schedule. A 1-hour grace period applies. After that: JMD 1,000 per hour. Over 6 hours late: a full extra day is charged.

Collection and return locations are nominated by the renter and confirmed by the Lessor before the rental begins.

6. Insurance & Liability

The renter is responsible for all damages unless covered by insurance. Misuse, negligence, or criminal use voids all waivers.

7. Security Deposit

Fully refundable after inspection, minus deductions for damages, fuel shortages, traffic violations, missing items, cleaning fees, or late fees.

8. Mechanical Responsibility

The renter must report issues immediately. Unauthorized repairs are prohibited.

9. Traffic Violations

The renter is responsible for all fines, tolls, and violations.

10. Governing Law

This agreement is governed by Jamaican law.
